Goodman Work Log

2010-10-05: S. Heathcote & S. Pizarro removed 1200l/mm grating and installed 2100l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 300l/mm, 600l/mm, and 2100l/mm.

2010-10-07: S. Pizarro & D. Maturana removed the 300l/mm grating and installed the 1200l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 1200l/mm, 600l/mm, and, 2100l/mm.

2010-10-09: D. Maturana removed the 1200l/mm grating and installed the 300l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 300l/mm, 600l/mm, and 2100l/mm.

2010-10-10: S. Points changed the software limit on camera focus from 1000 to 3000.

2010-10-13: P. Ugarte removed the 300l/mm grating and installed the 1200l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 1200l/mm, 600l/mm, and 2100l/mm.

2010-10-13: S. Points changed the software limit on the camera focus from 3000 to 1000.

2010-10-15: P. Ugarte removed the 1200l/mm grating and installed the 300l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 300l/mm, 600l/mm, and 2100l/mm.

2010-10-15: S. Points changed the software limit on the camera focus from 1000 to 3000.

2010-10-15: E. Parkes reports that the bottom of the shutter plate was out of place. G. Gomez removed and replaced the shutter assembly.

2010-10-29: P. Ugarte removed the 300l/mm grating and installed the 2100l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 2100l/mm, 600l/mm, and 1200l/mm.

2010-10-31: P. Ugarte removed the 2100l/mm grating and installed the 300l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 300l/mm, 600l/mm, and 1200l/mm. Image slicer removed.

2010-11-16: D. Maturana removed the 2100l/mm grating and installed the 300l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 300l/mm, 600l/mm, and 1200l/mm.

2010-11-27: P. Ugarte installed 300l/mm grating. The installed gratings are 300l/mm, 600l/mm, and 1200l/mm.

2010-12-14: S. Pizarro removed 300l/mm grating and installed the 2100l/mm grating.

2011-01-20: P. Ugarte removed 300l/mm grating and installed the 2100l/mm grating.

2011-01-20: S. Points changed max camfocus from +3000 to +1000.

2011-02-27: Gratings 300l/mm, 1200l/mm, and 2100l/mm installed by D. Maturana.

2011-09-01: L. Fraga removed 1.03" slit for repairs.

2011-09-05: 1.03" slit re-installed for testing.

The Southern Astrophysical Research (SOAR) Telescope is a 4.1 meter aperture telescope designed to produce the best quality images of any observatory in its class in the world. It was funded by a partnership among the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, e Inovação (MCTI) da República Federativa do Brasil, the U.S. National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), and Michigan State University (MSU). SOAR is situated on Cerro Pachón at an altitude of 2,700 meters (8,775 feet) above sea level, at the western edge of the peaks of the Chilean Andes.
